During this season of gratitude and giving, First Southwest Bank would like to thank the Southwest Colorado and San Luis Valley nonprofits for all of the effort they put into making our communities better places to live, work and play.
As a CDFI bank with a mission to improve the social and economic landscape of southern Colorado, we have a lot in common with mission-driven nonprofits that serve our region. In support of our area nonprofits, FSWB is an advocate of Colorado Gives Day (CGD), December 6th, and specifically SWCO Gives and SLV Gives, coordinated respectively by Regional Champions,
Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado and the
Community Foundation of the San Luis Valley. You can read about CGD here. It is Colorado’s largest statewide 24-hour giving event raising more than $362 million for nonprofits statewide since it began.
We have supported both SWCO Gives and SLV Gives the past two years, providing sponsorship funds to help promote the day. Both Community Foundations have reported that the collective impact of participating nonprofits has significantly increased giving over the years. That makes sense. As more nonprofits raise awareness about the opportunity to donate to causes that make a difference in our communities, the more people receive the message and donate.
As a CDFI bank working to improve the economic and social landscape of Southern Colorado through supporting of small businesses (for-profit and nonprofit) with low-cost loans and nonprofit sponsorships, we are helping to amplify that message with our support of these regional marketing efforts.
Take a look at the videos we produced in support of CDGD starring our fearless leader, Kent Curtis, articulating how and why we support the nonprofits in our region. You can watch both the
SWCO Gives Day and SLV Gives Day videos here on our YouTube channel. While there, please subscribe.
And most importantly, support what matters most to you and give where you live on December 6th.
