What is a coronavirus stimulus payment?
The federal government is providing stimulus payments under the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.
 
How do I know if I’m eligible?
U.S. citizens, permanent residents or qualifying resident aliens are eligible. The IRS has issued guidance to determine eligibility here: irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments
 
How do I get payment?
By Direct Deposit: If you filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019 with current direct deposit information for a tax refund, the IRS will automatically deposit the payment into your account on file.
 
By Mailed Check: If you filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019 with incorrect direct deposit information, owed tax, or didn’t choose direct deposit, the IRS will mail your check.
