Ever wondered what it takes to start your own business? Join us for free appetizers and drinks next week to find out! We will be sitting down with one of Pagosa Spring’s leading entrepreneurs to hear about the lows and the highs of starting a small business.
On Monday October 28th, from 5-7pm First Southwest Community Fund and First Southwest Bank are collaborating with Startup Colorado to host a Storytelling event in Pagosa Springs. Behind the Business featuring Alpine Medical will be a fireside chat event with Alpine Medical’s founder, Tabitha Zappone.
Startup Colorado is an organization with a mission to demonstrate that rural entrepreneurship will ignite a culture of potential, empowering people and places to thrive and define their own future. Led by a team of rural entrepreneurs and community champions, Startup Colorado works throughout the Western Slope and Eastern Plains; supporting initiatives that benefit the long-term resources and success of Colorado’s rural entrepreneurs. One of Startup Colorado’s initiatives is a series of Storytelling events hosted in rural communities featuring entrepreneurs from those communities. Their first event was in Yuma, Colorado and the second will be in Pagosa Springs.
First Southwest Community Fund and First Southwest Bank are excited to partner with Startup Colorado to spotlight a local entrepreneur, Tabitha Zappone, who has been supported by loans from both entities. Zappone is a Nurse Practitioner who decided to launch her own medical practice, Alpine Medical, which focuses on Primary Care, Direct Primary Care, Outreach Clinic, IPL, Wellness Program and Red Light Therapy. Zappone is passionate about providing quality healthcare to our rural communities. She will share her story on why she decided to launch her own practice, challenges she has faced and overcome in her journey as an entrepreneur, and what advice she would give to others thinking about starting their own business.
“Visibility is hugely important in entrepreneurship. For those people with an idea at the back of their head, it is vital for them to see others who have taken the rocky road of starting a business and learn from their successes and failures. We are really excited to partner with Startup Colorado to spotlight Tabitha and her amazing story” said Cass Walker, Executive Director at First Southwest Community Fund.
Join us at Pagosa Lodge/Best Western (3505 US 160, Pagosa Springs) on Monday October 28th, from 5-7pm. There will be appetizers and beverages served. For more info, check out the Facebook event by searching Storytellers: Alpine Medical in Pagosa Springs on Facebook.
